Dave, NewcastleI cancelled my annual gym subscription a few months ago (as I never felt I had the time to use it properly), so I wanted to get back in shape without committing myself to any long term contract or payment scheme. Considering I always chose the Concept2 at the gym for a good all round muscle work-out, and some intensive stuff, I thought it would be best to hire one. I now go on the Concept2 exactly when it suits me.
Bruce, Stoke-On-TrentFor me the appeal of indoor rowing is the low impact cardiovascular exercise, and the workouts fit into my busy lifestyle which is usually stuck in front of a computer screen. I found the advice at GM Fitness just right, a few gentle reminders on how to get best use out of the rower, and some useful pointers - and I gradually built up my fitness levels. I then bought a heart rate monitor which helped me along by setting myself new targets and within a couple of weeks and I was really feeling the results.
Jayne, NantwichWe wanted to hire a rowing machine to get rid of some weight, train for the marathon and raise some money for charity. We ended up competing against each other and even had friends involved sponsoring us each over 20k distances! Very addictive, great fun, and great to see the kilometers add up in front of you on the monitor…and it got me back in shape.
Colin, manchesterGreat for getting me back in shape before the rugby season. I exercise when I want, how I want, and as hard as I want. I have the incentive to get fit before training starts, and hiring a machine for a few months is ideal.
Guy, LondonI would recommend rowing to anyone. Good all round non-aggressive exercise, a very therapeutic way to keep those muscles toned and raise those fitness levels. The fact that it is indoors helps even more. The 90 day workout is exactly what I needed to keep me motivated and spurred on.
Peter, BirminghamI needed some form of convenient exercise equipment and had already been down the route of buying the wrong cheap machine that wasn’t the best for the job and ends up gathering dust in the attic. Nor did I want to spend over a thousand pounds on one machine, (even paying it off over 3 years). Hiring was the best solution for me, it gave me an incentive to actually use the machine and get good value, and I get to use what is undoubtedly one of the best fitness machines out there.
Caroline, EdinburghOne machine and I have got the whole family rowing!
